Haitian Artist, Jimmy Alexandre "Jimmy O" and Young Cliff of Barikad Crew found dead.

Hours after the devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake that shook the island of Haiti, Wyclef Jean put out a plea to anyone with information about the whereabouts of Haitian rapper Jimmy O, who is a part of 'Clef's nonprofit Yele Haiti foundation.

"I urge everyone who's listening right now that knows how great this kid is in Haiti — I need y'all to verify this information," he said during a CNN interview. "It would be a terrible loss for us."

On Friday (January 15), CNN confirmed that O, 35, who had reportedly traveled to the island to work on a mixtape, had died in the quake. According to reports, O was crushed while driving around downtown Port-au-Prince.

CNN was on the scene when O's body was discovered Friday and watched as a man examined the body and pulled the artist's passport from his pocket, verifying the corpse as that of Jean "Jimmy O" Jimmy Alexandre.

Agent Robert Dominique was also present at the discovery of the body and verified his identity. "His loss will be tremendous in Haiti," Dominique said. He said that in addition to helping run the Yele Haiti charity, O also developed new talent and artists in Haiti.

The grief-stricken mother of the musician and his wife and two of his three children were present at the scene and were reportedly joined by a crowd that was also overcome with emotion over the loss.

As of Friday morning, Yele Haiti had raised more than $2 million from mobile giving, according to Albe Angel, CEO of Miami-based Give on the Go, the mobile-communications company working with nonprofit Yele Haiti to coordinate donations. In addition to food distribution and emergency relief, Yele Haiti has provided thousands of scholarships to children since its founding in 2004.

Around 9 pm on Saturday, the musicians of B.C stop at the Rue Chavannes' block party organized by Caraïbes FM with DJ Fanfan, DJ Val Mix, Djakout where Barikad Crew was supposed to close the show. The guys left to honor a contract in La Plaine and were supposed to come back to close the Radio Caraïbes 59th Anniversary show.

On the way back form La Plaine they took the "ROUTE DE L'AEROPORT" / 3 MAINS, in two different cars.
Papa K-Tafal (Jean Walker Senatus) was supposed to be in the second car in line, but he asked Young Cliff to go to the second car, and he took a seat in the BMW instead. The owner of the car is a fan/friend of the band who usually used his car to drive the guys to the shows even when they are performing out of town.
The BMW hit the divider and rolled over in a ditch where it hit the base on an electric pole. To those of you who know the road the accident happened a few meters from the tire repair place.

The hit maker Déja Voo (Junior Badio) was also in the BMW as well as Dade (John Emmanuel Dade) who had the chance to jump out of the window but died anyway. Dade is the only person who was taken to the morgue, the other members who stayed in the car were unfortunately carbonized. The 5th person who died is the new drummer of the band a guy named Djo, he was in his early 20's.

The reason Barikad Crew is close to Radio Caraïbes is because the manager of the band Fred Hipe is an employee of the station. Fred is also the beat maker and one of the writers of the band, the owner of the station Patrick Mousignac is one of the band's advisers. Fred Hype used his studio Sky studio to do all the recording, mixing and mastering for B.C. The guys who don't live too far of the station were often seen in the hallways of Radio Caraibes.

The worse part of the news is when the first fire truck arrived, there was NO WATER on the fire truck....When the mayor of Carrefour Yvon Jerome found out what happened he called the fire station of Carrefour and ordered them to go and help out...we all know that Carrefour is not around the corner from Route de l'Aeroport...but Yvon tried anyway.

All this is outrageous, because they (LES POMPIERS) should have at least saved the bodies of the young artists. A fire truck, with no means of extinguish a car on fire, is not something that is acceptable....

NO this is just too low...and ironically this is exactly the kind of message of B.C that made them the chouchou of the young Haitians and others who care and always asking for change in the system...

Songs like NOU DI NON written by Déja Voo, Brital and Fred Hype and JWI LA VIE written by Déja Voo will forever have a lot more weight.....
